Direct Support Professional 2.3 2.3 out of 5 stars Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and community engagement. This role involves working closely with individuals in their home environments, assisting them with daily activities, and promoting their independence. Responsibilities Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community settings. Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Observe and report changes in clients' physical and emotional conditions to appropriate personnel. Facilitate social interactions and community involvement by accompanying clients on outings and activities. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. Maintain a safe and supportive environment that encourages independence and personal growth. Document client progress and maintain accurate records of services provided. Collaborate with family members, healthcare providers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Requirements Experience in home community care or similar settings is preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques and patient care practices. Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Background in long-term care or assisted living environments is a plus. Certification in First Aid is beneficial. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals.
