Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those with disabilities or requiring home and hospice care. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering personalized care and ensuring the well-being of those you serve. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Support individuals with mobility and transportation needs. Help with laundry and light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients' health conditions. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behavior. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including CPR training and emergency response procedures. Qualifications Previous experience in home care, hospice care, or assisted living environments is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting and assisting clients as needed. Basic knowledge of healthcare systems and documentation practices. CPR certification is highly desirable. High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional training or certifications in caregiving is an advantage.
