  • Part-time, Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, and other health conditions.

Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient behavior, and reporting any changes or concerns promptly. Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safe and compliant patient care. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area. Support residents during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence. Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports in accordance with facility policies. Follow safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies or accidents. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs as needed. Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder, or memory care needs is desirable. Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care and social work principles. Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as required.
