Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care and support to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether working in a group home, assisted living facility, or community setting, you will be the positive influence that helps individuals thrive daily. Responsibilities Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards Support medication administration and ensure care plans are followed precisely to meet each individual's unique needs Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual preferences, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation Maintain a safe environment through regular cleaning, sanitation, and adherence to safety protocols; assist with heavy lifting and resident transfers as required Document care activities thoroughly in compliance with healthcare regulations and assist with patient monitoring during shifts Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for long shifts is essential Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving; experience in social work or nursing is beneficial Valid background check clearance; commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations Join us in creating a supportive environment where compassion meets professional excellence.
