GENERAL FUNCTION
The Certified Home Health Aide provides personal care and support services to patients under the supervision of an RN, assisting with activities of daily living and documenting care provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists patients with personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, dressing, and mobility needs. Provides assistance with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping tasks as directed. Observes and reports any changes in the patient's condition to the supervising RN. Documents daily care activities accurately and submits records to the agency. Supports patients in maintaining independence and dignity in the home environment. Adheres to infection control and safety standards during all care activities. Participates in ongoing training and competency evaluations. This position is starting part-time, Monday-Friday 9am-1pm assisting a client with all personal care needs following a stroke. Immediate start date preferred!
KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIRED TRAINING
Must have completed an Indiana state-approved Home Health Aide training program and have an active Indiana HHA Certification (or willingness to obtain). Knowledge of basic personal care skills, infection control, and safe transfer techniques required.
PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Maintains respectful communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Reports directly to the supervising
RN. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires physical ability to assist with lifting, turning, and transferring patients. Must be able to perform household support tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in patient homes. Conditions may vary and exposure to infectious diseases may occur.
