Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, seniors, and those with complex health needs. Your efforts will help enhance their quality of life, promote independence, and foster a safe, respectful environment. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, administering medication, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals. Support residents with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining proper nutrition aligned with care plans. Implement individualized care plans designed by healthcare teams to meet each person's unique needs. Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling devices safely and effectively. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control protocols. Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. Experience Candidates should possess prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia or Alzheimer's care is highly valued. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques, medication administration, care planning, and emergency response procedures such as CPR and first aid is essential. Ideal applicants will have hands-on experience with manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts, managing resident's (personal needs), and working within HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality. Previous roles involving geriatrics or neurodevelopmental disorders will be considered advantageous. Strong communication skills in social work or caregiving contexts are preferred for success in this role.
