Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether supporting seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those experiencing memory care challenges, your efforts will foster a nurturing environment where clients feel valued and empowered. This paid position offers an energizing opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while positively impacting your community every day. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning in accordance with dietary needs Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks Support residents during outings or community activities to promote social engagement Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and care plans Respond promptly to emergencies with CPR or first aid when necessary, ensuring safety at all times Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive care Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care is preferred Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in patient handling Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous Familiarity with medication administration, care plans, and vital signs monitoring is beneficial Compassionate attitude combined with patience and excellent caregiving skills to support diverse needs Join us to be part of a passionate team committed to providing exceptional care.
