Every other weekend required
Pay:
Starting at $17.00/hour + $2.00/hour overnight differential Provide calm, consistent care through the night. As an Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP), you play a vital role in maintaining a safe, stable, and supportive environment while individuals rest. You'll focus on observation, documentation, and responding to needs throughout the night
  • ensuring continuity of care and preparing the next shift for success.
This role is ideal for someone who works well independently, stays attentive in quieter environments, and values consistency and structure.

The care and support include activities of daily living, productive activities, and leisure activities as appropriate. The DSP will provide active treatment, safety, and supervision to individuals of the lodge while promoting inclusion in the community. 1:4/1:5 ratios. Provides individualized attention, which encourages each Individual's ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Maintain knowledge of the Individuals' plan of care and provides support to the Individuals according to their Individual Program Plan (IPP). Contributes to the care planning process by providing the Nurse or other members of the Interdisciplinary Team with specific information and observations of the Individual's needs and preferences. Attends to the needs of the Individuals we support
  • assistance with bathing, dressing grooming, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, and/or other needs in keeping with the Individuals' care requirements.
Fully understands all aspects of Individuals' rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse. Responsible for immediately reporting to the facility administrator incidents or evidence of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and/or violation of Individuals' rights. Assists in maintaining a safe, neat, and clean environment. Reports environmental deficiencies to the Nurse (such as lighting or equipment problems). Protects and assist with the care of the personal belongings of each Individual we support
  • including wheelchairs, eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, furnishings, jewelry, clothing, and memorabilia.
Promptly reports missing items according to established policy and participates in efforts to locate missing items. Assist with/complete laundry for his/her assigned suite and the Individuals we support. Assist with meal preparation and eating with the Individuals we support. Observes Individuals for changes in condition or behavior and promptly reports these changes to appropriate personnel. Provides care that maintains each Individual's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and/or other damage by changing incontinent Individuals, turning, repositioning immobile Individuals, and by applying moisturizer to fragile skin and other areas. Answers Individual's call bells promptly and courteously. Performs various tasks assigned by the Nurse, including weighing Individuals, applying creams/ointments, and collecting specimens. Lifts, moves, and transports Individuals, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the Individuals' visitors, families, peers, and supervisors. Assist and escorts Individuals for appointments, including attending activities and/or church services. Participates in activities and functions as directed. Practices careful and efficient use of supplies and linen and follows established procedures. Completes appropriate records, documenting care provided or other information in keeping with department policies. Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures, including thorough handwashing, use of disposable gloves where indicated, and proper disposal of soiled materials. Attends scheduled/required meetings, including suite meetings, in-service sessions, Individuals' annual reviews, and planning meetings. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area or to requests from Individuals, visitors, and other personnel within given time frames and established policy. Performs other work as assigned or requested.
