Direct Support Professional (DSP) -
Adult Day Training Program Note:

Position Overview We are seeking compassionate, dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals in our Adult Day Training (ADT) program and within the community. This role focuses on promoting independence, skill development, safety, and overall well‑being while ensuring participants are treated with dignity and respect at all times. DSPs assist individuals in achieving personal goals, engaging in daily activities, maintaining life skills, and participating meaningfully in their community. Job Responsibilities Direct Support Professionals assist participants with daily living skills, including personal hygiene, grooming, social skills, money management, and household responsibilities. Staff support individuals in following a structured daily schedule and monthly activity calendar, helping participants meet their daily goals and objectives. Responsibilities also include assisting with community involvement such as volunteer activities, employment exploration, continuing education, shopping trips, and group outings. DSPs are expected to help maintain a clean and safe environment by completing light housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and cleaning common areas and restrooms. Staff must be comfortable assisting with personal care tasks, including bodily fluids and hygiene as needed. Proper body mechanics and safety practices must be used at all times. DSPs are required to administer medications and strictly follow all state regulations, agency policies, and participant‑specific care plans. Accurate, thorough, and timely documentation is an essential part of this role. Mandatory Reporting and Safety Responsibilities This position carries mandatory reporter responsibilities . Staff must remain vigilant at all times and be able to recognize, document, and immediately report any signs of abuse, neglect, exploitation, isolation, punishment, or mistreatment in accordance with state regulations and agency policy. Participant safety and supervision are critical expectations throughout the workday. Ideal Candidates Ideal candidates are energetic, reliable, and self‑motivated individuals who can engage consistently and promptly with participants. Applicants must be able to multitask, follow detailed instructions, complete documentation efficiently and accurately, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills, organization, punctuality, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role. Phone Usage Policy Personal phone use during work hours must be minimal and job‑appropriate only . Excessive phone use, texting, scrolling, or disengagement from participants is not acceptable. Staff are expected to remain attentive, responsive, and actively engaged with participants throughout their shift. Schedule, Training, and Pay All training is 100% paid , with initial training held Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM . Pay rates are based on prior relevant experience , and annual raises are offered based on performance, reliability, and tenure. Employees must be reliable and able to meet scheduled program hours. This role requires consistency, accountability, and engagement during the workday. Licensing, Transportation, and Background Requirements Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED (or be 21 years of age). A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to transport participants as required are necessary. Candidates must maintain current CPR and First Aid certification and complete all required CORE and agency training within six months of hire. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background screenings, including criminal background checks and any screenings required by state regulations or funding sources. Individuals with felony convictions or drug‑related charges within the past five (5) years may not qualify for employment. Applicants Who Should Not Apply This position is not a good fit for individuals who are not self‑starters, are unorganized, cannot complete documentation accurately, or are unable to stay attentive and engaged throughout the workday. Applicants who cannot meet background screening requirements should not apply.
