Direct Support Professional Quality Success Services Prestonsburg, KY 41653 $15.50 - $18.00 an hour - Part-time $15.50 - $18.00 an hour - Part-time Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with diverse needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to residents in group homes, assisted living facilities, or community settings. Your dedication will help promote safety, well-being, and a sense of community for those you serve. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistive devices. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals. Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual preferences, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties, laundry, and sanitation tasks in compliance with health standards. Support residents' emotional well-being through engaging activities, social interaction, and companionship tailored to their interests and needs. Document care activities accurately in resident records, including medication administration, behavioral observations, and progress notes for ongoing care planning. Follow all safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures; respond effectively to emergencies or incidents involving residents with patience and professionalism. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, mobility support (including heavy lifting), and meal preparation. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism spectrum disorder support or hospice care is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support is desirable. Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are required; additional training in nursing or home health is a plus.
