Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional/Caregiver to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, fostering a nurturing and empowering atmosphere. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences Operate equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensure proper use for resident safety during transfers Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices Document care activities accurately in resident records, including progress notes and incident reports Support residents during outings or community activities to promote social engagement Collaborate with team members, healthcare providers, and family members to develop and follow personalized care plans Skills Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living, or long-term care environments Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient monitoring Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, HIPAA compliance, and nursing assistant credentials preferred Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Strong observational skills to monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly Excellent communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive resident information in accordance with HIPAA standards Join our dedicated team of caregivers committed to providing compassionate support that empowers individuals to live their best lives.
