  • $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Qualifications Assisting with ADLs Personal transportation assistance Patient hygiene assistance Sensory impairments support Meal assistance Full Job Description I need help with my 21-year-old daughter who is deaf, non-verbal and autistic and most importantly incredibly strong (which means you need to be strong because she isn't kidding) and incredibly cute (and it is easy to give in to what she wants when she flashes her smile•LOL).
I am looking for two weekday afternoon/evening person to work with her. Time would be 3:30p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Ideally Friday afternoon/evening and open to the other day. Would like help on the weekends as well but I am open to how we do it. Could be one day for 6 hours, could be 2 days at 3 hours a day. Could be every other weekend with the weekend worked maybe both days. I am flexible because I would like to be able to hire the right person to work with my daughter. Part of your responsibilities would be getting her off the bus at 3:30, giving her a snack, helping with her activities of daily living like changing diapers (although if you take her to the bathroom frequently enough, she does okay going on the toilet); pacing her eating, etc. Taking her for car rides (she loves riding in the car). You would also need to restrain her when she hits herself on her face and head (self-injurious behavior). She is very strong so this isn't easy. There are things you can do to de-escalate but sometimes you do have to restrain her hands. She is not aggressive towards others, just towards herself). Payrate is $20-25 per hour based on experience (little to zero experience is the $20; very experienced is the $25 and somewhere in the middle is about $22.50. It gets paid through an agency. There is a union that PCAs belong to in Massachusetts so things like tuition reimbursement (after 1 year on the job) ; EPA program, and training/classes are available through the union. The position includes paid time off and some paid holidays.
