Per Diem Direct Support Professional (DSP) -
Children's Program Pay :
$20.00 - $21.50 per hour (based on experience)
Location :
Brewster, MA Make a Difference with Flexible Hours Latham Centers is seeking Per Diem Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide coverage within our Children's Program. This flexible role is ideal for individuals who want to support youth with complex special needs while gaining valuable experience in a therapeutic and educational environment. As a DSP, you will assist students in developing daily living skills, engaging in educational and recreational activities, and building independence. Working alongside teachers and clinical staff, you'll help maintain a safe and structured environment while serving as a positive and encouraging role model for students. Position Responsibilities Provide direct care and support to students with special needs in both residential and educational settings Assist students with daily routines including life skills, health-related tasks, and structured activities Reinforce positive behavior and follow individualized treatment or support plans Help maintain a safe and supportive environment on campus and during community outings Follow daily schedules, activity plans, and program guidelines provided by the assigned classroom or residential team Support staff during behavioral escalations using approved intervention techniques when necessary Document relevant information such as student progress, incidents, and shift updates as required Maintain clear communication with team members regarding student needs and observations Participate in mandatory trainings and maintain required certifications Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of program spaces Perform additional duties as needed to support program operations Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or in a human services setting is preferred Valid driver's license preferred Basic computer and documentation skills Ability to safely intervene during behavioral incidents when necessary to ensure student and staff safety Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills About Latham Centers Latham Centers provides specialized residential, educational, and therapeutic programs for children and adults with complex special needs.
