Our day supports are community-based and relationship-centered, focusing on meaningful activities, skill-building, and connection, not a traditional facility-based program. The Role The Day Support Professional provides individualized support to adults with IDD during daytime hours, both in the home and in the community. This role focuses on supporting daily routines, building skills, fostering independence, and helping individuals engage in meaningful community life. Staff receive training to support individuals with a range of needs, including behavioral, communication, and daily living supports. Key Responsibilities Individualized Support & Skill Building Support individuals in daily routines, including activities of daily living. Implement individualized goals based on each person's support plan Teach and support skill development in areas such as communication, independence, and social engagement Support individuals in making choices and directing their own day Community Engagement Support participation in community activities such as volunteering, recreation, classes, libraries, fitness centers, and social opportunities Foster meaningful relationships and connections in the community Assist with transportation to and from activities Behavioral & Clinical Support Follow individualized behavior support strategies using a respectful, proactive approach Support individuals in managing emotions and navigating challenging moments Observe and document progress related to individual and behavior support plans Support planning and participation in recreational, educational, and social activities Documentation & Communication Complete required documentation, including daily notes and data collection Communicate regularly with team members regarding progress, concerns, and updates Participate in team meetings and trainings Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Experience supporting individuals with IDD and/or autism preferred Valid driver's license and safe driving record required Willingness to complete required trainings (e.g., CPR/First Aid, MAP, and other certifications) Skills & Qualities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to support individuals in a respectful, person-centered way Flexibility, creativity, and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Alignment with Branching Tree's values of belonging, dignity, and community Why This Role Matters Day Support Professionals help create meaningful, connected days, not just structured schedules.
