Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will empower residents to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans, ensuring accuracy and safety at all times Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and assist residents during meal times to promote independence and social interaction Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning routines, laundry, and organization of living spaces Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care, utilizing patience and specialized techniques Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring required Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and HIPAA compliance are highly desirable; willingness to obtain necessary certifications upon hire is expected Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support or hospice care is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work flexible shifts including evenings or weekends as needed Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with people with developmental disabilities or other special needs Demonstrated commitment to compassionate caregiving with a focus on safety and dignity Join us in making a positive impact every day!
