Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional, providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and residents in assisted living or long-term care settings. This role offers rewarding opportunities to make a positive impact during morning and evening shifts, supporting residents' daily needs and promoting their independence. You will be a vital part of creating a safe, engaging, and respectful environment where residents thrive. The position is paid and ideal for compassionate individuals eager to foster meaningful connections while ensuring safety and well-being. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, utilizing specialized techniques for behavior management Operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts safely during transfers to prevent injury Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist residents during meal times Maintain detailed documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for resident progress and incidents Provide transportation or driving support for appointments or community outings when required Perform light cleaning duties to ensure a safe and hygienic environment in compliance with health standards Collaborate with team members to develop personalized care plans tailored to each resident's needs Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home & community care environments Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic first aid procedures Strong understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and behavior management techniques Ability to assist with ADLs effectively while respecting resident dignity Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, families, and team members Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate record keeping Valid driver's license for driving responsibilities if needed Physical ability to perform caregiving tasks including lifting with Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility Compassionate attitude combined with patience and adaptability in dynamic settings Join us in delivering exceptional support that empowers residents to live fulfilling lives!
