Salus Health is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide Personal Support Services (PSS) to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) program. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live independently, safely, and meaningfully within their communities while promoting dignity, choice, and personal growth. Responsibilities Provide individualized personal support based on each person's goals and Plan of Service. Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility as needed. Support community integration by accompanying individuals to recreational, educational, volunteer, and social activities. Assist with meal preparation, grocery shopping, and light housekeeping. Provide medication reminders (when permitted by program guidelines). Assist with transportation to appointments and community activities. Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and skill development. Complete accurate daily documentation and service notes in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and interdisciplinary team members. Follow DDA regulations, agency policies, and person-centered practices. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of each individual served. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. Experience as a DSP, caregiver, CNA, home health aide, behavioral health technician, or similar role is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Ability to pass a criminal background check. Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to complete all required DDA and agency training. Authorized to work in the United States.
