Job Description

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Direct Support Professional is responsible for assisting individuals with disabilities to learn, grow and become more independent. The position supports individuals with developmental disabilities to have a quality of life and promotes health, safety, and well-being. Serving as an advocate in communicating individuals' needs and goals the main duties include helping individuals complete basic housekeeping tasks, transporting them to appointments or other social outings, and helping individuals to implement the safety precautions learned in their respective environments. Use of personal vehicle, MD driver's license with fewer than 5 points, and valid auto insurance required. Minimum 2 years of driving experience. CPR/First Aid Training Required. Ability to relate well to staff, individuals, board members, and all relevant stakeholders of different races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and religions required.
