Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact every day. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and observe patients' health status, recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature regularly Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet individual dietary needs and preferences Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties, including cleaning client spaces and common areas Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and assist with mobility challenges Implement personalized care plans designed by healthcare professionals to promote health, safety, and independence Provide companionship and emotional support to foster social engagement and reduce feelings of isolation Document care activities accurately while respecting client confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines Collaborate with team members, healthcare providers, families, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for clients Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and CPR/First Aid certification are preferred Experience with autism spectrum disorder support and intellectual disabilities Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members Compassionate attitude with patience for working with individuals facing developmental disabilities or aging-related challenges Valid certifications in first aid, CPR, HIPAA compliance training preferred but not required Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends as needed to provide consistent support Join us in providing exceptional care that empowers individuals to live fulfilling lives.
