Paid Orientation and Training Full Time Benefits Community Support Services, Inc. is currently seeking Community Support Associates to support adults with autism. If you are compassionate and have an interest in teaching adults with autism the necessary skills to work and live in the community, we want to talk with you! Hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8a-4p and remain constant each week to enable employees to manage personal and family needs. Individuals receiving support require assistance and instruction on how to complete vocational skills, obtain work and access social and recreational activities during daytime hours.. Many have limited communication skills and engage in challenging behavior. Direct support professionals work with nurses and psychologists to implement plans to teach individuals more independence and safe ways to achieve their goals.

REQUIRED TRAINING/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent Completion and demonstration of techniques taught in the

MANDT, CPR

& First Aid training's, other training's as required by CSS which are provided in orientation. Successfully complete annual re-certification of the MANDT. Recommended to have a valid driver's license and a driving record free of any moving violations for the past two (2) years.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Employee must be able to effectively use non-adverse physical intervention strategies with individuals with autism of varying heights, weights and levels of physical strength according to the guidelines presented in MANDT training.

Location :

Onsite/In-Person •$25.47 is the rate after all training and compliance has been completed. The starting rate is $22.16 for this position until training is complete. CSS is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable organization which provides services and support to children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities residing within Montgomery County, Maryland. CSS was founded in 1994 and began its mission by working collaboratively with individuals, families, and other lead agencies to design and implement new models of service. CSS provides residential services in 70 homes in upper Montgomery County, where two individuals reside in each home with one or two support staff providing care and supervision . Additionally, day support services including vocational training and education are provided in our main center, family homes, and in the local Montgomery County community.
