Job Description

Children Achieving Maximum Potential, Inc. is hiring one-on-one support staff (Intensive Individual Support Services (IISS) Therapists) to work with adolescents and young adults on the autism spectrum directly in their homes and communities . This position is perfect for teachers , educational support staff , direct care professionals, nursing assistants, and others in care-based positions looking to supplement their income part-time! This position is also perfect for college students of all majors , who have an interest in working with people with autism! You can adjust your schedule each semester as your classes change!
Responsibilities and Duties:
The Intensive Individual Support Services (IISS) Therapist gives one-on-one support and instruction to children, adolescents, and young adults on the autism spectrum. Services are provided directly in the clients' homes and communities. The main duties of the IISS Therapist are to: Follow the client's individualized treatment plan to increase their independence across all areas. Utilize different instructional strategies, relationship building techniques, and positive behavior reinforcement to support the client's growth. Help the client reduce and/or eliminate inappropriate behavior with the support of supervisors who will train you to implement individualized behavior plans. Help the client learn strategies to increase their functional communication skills. Help the client learn strategies to support their emotional regulation. When appropriate, encourage social integration and participation in group activities. When appropriate, support life and leisure activities in the community - Examples include: learning to purchase items at the store, ordering food at restaurants, going bowling! Document progress through session notes and collaborate with Family Consultants to better support client growth!
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma. Must pass a criminal background check. Must be able to maintain client confidentiality. Must be able to represent the company professionally, outside of an office setting. Must be energetic and able to move quickly. Must be kind, patient, and respectful to people with disabilities. Must have a passion for working one-on-one with children/adolescents with a wide range of needs, as well as their families. Must be willing to take direction, training, and implement feedback as given by the trainer/supervisor. Must be willing to communicate regularly with supervisors who work at the main office. Benefits This is a very flexible part-time position with primarily afternoon, evening and weekend hours. You are able to make your own schedule in collaboration with the families you work with.
