Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional, working Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 11 PM! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and residents in assisted living or memory care settings. Your energetic and proactive approach will help foster independence, ensure safety, and promote a positive quality of life for those you serve. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable skills in caregiving, health monitoring, and community support. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health is maintained. Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Provide engaging social interactions and behavioral management to promote emotional well-being and reduce agitation or distress. Support residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory care needs through specialized techniques that enhance safety and comfort. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and shared spaces. Drive residents when necessary for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe transportation practices. Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments with a focus on senior care or individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures including first aid certification. Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of care activities. Strong understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, behavior management strategies, and memory care techniques. Ability to assist with ADLs using proper lifting techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals. Valid driver's license for transportation duties and a clean driving record preferred.
