PRN Position Summary:
Bridging Life Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Aide to join our Carroll Home Team This vital role supports terminally ill patients and their families with high-quality, holistic care. Under the supervision of an RN, the Hospice Aide ensures comfort, dignity, and support throughout the end-of-life process while working as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain and record patient data and vital signs accurately and promptly in accordance with hospice policies. Monitor and report changes in patient condition or behavior to the nursing team. Provide direct patient care and emotional support, maintaining privacy and dignity at all times. Assist with activities of daily living including ambulation, transfers, and personal care. Support patients through the death and dying process with sensitivity and compassion. Participate in decubitus care, routine catheter care, and emergency interventions as directed. Maintain cleanliness of patient areas; assist with environmental and food service duties as needed. Follow safety protocols, infection control procedures, and hospice policies. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility with patient assignments and workload. Actively engage in cost containment, supply management, and time efficiency. Support the orientation and training of new staff members. Represent Carroll Hospice in the community and assist with outreach and liaison activities. Complete required monthly education and attend quarterly staff meetings.
Requirements:
Required:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license endorsed through Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON)
AHA BLS Provider Certification Preferred:
