Job Description

2 Full-Time DSPs 1 Part-Time DSP 12-hour shifts available on: Sunday-Tuesday Thursday-Saturday Wednesday (Exact scheduling details can be discussed during the interview process.) We are currently seeking reliable, compassionate, and enthusiastic Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide 1:1 support for an individual living independently in Bangor, Maine . This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's daily life by supporting independence, community involvement, and engaging experiences. The individual enjoys getting out into the community and is looking for staff who are excited to help coordinate outings, activities, and plans to make each week enjoyable and fulfilling. About the
Role:
The individual lives independently in her own home and uses a wheelchair-accessible van , which staff will utilize to assist with transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings. She also has two dogs , so applicants must be comfortable around dogs and willing to help in a pet-friendly environment . This position requires dependable and highly reliable staff , as the individual relies on support with important daily routines, including assistance getting in and out of bed. A Hoyer lift is utilized, and while prior experience is preferred, full training will be provided before staff work independently .
Responsibilities May Include:
Assisting with daily living supports Helping coordinate and participate in community outings and activities Transportation using an accessible wheelchair van Supporting a safe and positive home environment Assistance with transfers using a Hoyer lift (training provided) Encouraging independence, choice, and engagement in meaningful activities
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous DSP, caregiving, healthcare, or personal support experience preferred Experience using a Hoyer lift is a plus Dependable, punctual, and consistent attendance Comfortable working in a home with dogs Enthusiastic, patient, and community-minded Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Compensation:
