Direct Support Professional (DSP) New Heritage Recruiters Ann Arbor, MI Job Details Full-time | Contract $16.15 an hour 2 days ago Benefits Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Medication administration Patient monitoring Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED Driver's License Driving Full Job Description The Direct Service Professional (DSP) provides supervision to residents, including transportation to appointments, assistance with ADLs, behavior redirection, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. Supports individuals with disabilities in acquiring, retaining, and improving skills to enhance quality of life, while promoting independence, inclusion, and community engagement. Provides direct support in developing daily living, social, and vocational skills, and implements intervention plans and strategies as directed by clinical staff (e.g., behavioral, speech, case management, counseling, occupational, and physical therapy).

3 days/week, 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM Optional 4-hour support shift available to reach ~40 hours/weekPay:
$16.15 per hourRequirements:
High school diploma or GED required Must be at least 18 years old Ability to pass background check and drug screening (per regulatory requirements) Ability to complete and pass medication administration training and test Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Reliable transportation to and from workAdditional Notes:
Full-time and part-time staff are expected to consistently work their assigned schedules Opportunities to pick up additional shifts may be available with approval Growth and advancement opportunities are availableEssential Duties:
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding Administer medications as prescribed and document accurately Implement behavior support strategies and promote positive behavior management Facilitate community outings and social engagement Monitor resident health and report changes to medical or supervisory staff Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress, incidents, and compliance with state/facility requirements Ensure resident safety at all times; respond appropriately to emergencies (QBS training required) Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members Collaborate with the treatment team to provide coordinated care Advocate for residents' rights and individual needs Provide consistent engagement and one-on-one individualized support Implement clinical intervention plans to support skill development Collect and track data on behaviors (frequency, duration, intensity) Provide emotional support and encourage social development and community involvement Lead by example and support other DSP staff while fostering a positive environment Assist with personal care needs, including showering and toileting, as required Protect and uphold resident rights in accordance with training Maintain professional relationships with residents at all times Participate in all required training (CMH, licensing, and facility requirements) Follow all incident reporting, risk management, emergency, and safety procedures Adhere to company policies and procedures May be required to assist at other residential units as directed Operate company vehicles safely and for work purposes only Perform other related duties as assigned #NHR1Pay:
