Personal Care Assistant Valley Supplemental Staffing, Inc Flint, MI Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification Full Job Description Job Summary The Personal Care Aide provides essential personal care and homemaking services to senior clients in their homes. This role involves assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), providing social/emotional support, and ensuring a safe and clean living environment. Services are rendered under the direction and supervision of a qualified supervisor and in accordance with the individualized care plan. Essential Responsibilities Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transferring. Support ambulation and mobility using walkers, wheelchairs, or other assistive devices. Prepare meals according to client dietary needs and perform grocery and sundry shopping. Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning restrooms, and making beds. Provide social and emotional support to clients as part of regular care. Follow the individualized Senior Care Plan and document all tasks performed. Monitor and report any changes in client condition to the supervisor. Comply with Emergency Preparedness and Notification Plans as instructed. Maintain daily logs of services provided and hours worked. Participate in required training programs and maintain competency in assigned tasks. Respect client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Display proper identification while providing services. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of personal care aide, home health aide, or related training program preferred. CPR certification and negative TB test result required. Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals preferred. Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass a criminal background check and reference verification. Strong communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to client dignity and independence. Willingness to complete annual in-service training. Supervision This position operates under the direct supervision of a qualified Program Supervisor or Nursing Supervisor. All care provided must follow the approved care plan and supervision must be accessible during all hours of client service.
