~9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate, reliable female respite care provider to support a young child with complex medical and developmental needs in both the home and community setting. This role provides essential relief to the parent while ensuring the child's safety, comfort and engagement. About My Child My child requires total assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs) and continuous supervision due to medical and developmental needs.
Diagnoses include:
Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) White-Sutton Syndrome Global developmental delay; nonverbal Hirschsprung's Disease G-tube feeding Obstructive Sleep Apnea (oxygen at night) Hypotonia, joint laxity, hip dysplasia, and knee deformities Key Responsibilities Provide direct supervision and ensure safety at all times Assist with all ADLs, including: Diaper changes Feeding (puree diet and/or G-tube support as trained) Dressing and hygiene Prepare and provide snacks and dinner Support bath time and bedtime routine Monitor for medical and behavioral needs, including skin integrity and aspiration risks Engage the child in play and meaningful interaction, such as: Indoor play and sensory activities and outdoor activities (walks, wagon rides, park outings) Facilitate community inclusion when appropriate Qualifications Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or medical needs preferred Comfortable providing hands-on personal care Someone who is willing to travel to the lake with us (35 min from Livonia) and comfortable in and around water. Willing to learn feeding techniques (including G-tube support, if applicable) Patient, attentive, and dependable Female staff preferred per family request Ability to lift, position, and assist a child with mobility needs Additional Information Training will be provided for specific care needs Additional DWC online trainings will need to be completed Background check may be required
