Home Health Aide Candus Cares Southfield, MI Job Details Full-time $13 - $17 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification Hospice experience Assisting with ADLs Home care Home health Bathing assistance Full Job Description Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide essential support and care to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health challenges. This role requires a blend of personal care skills and the ability to observe and report changes in a patient's condition. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Monitor and document vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse as needed. Administer medications according to prescribed schedules while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Maintain cleanliness in the client's living environment by performing light housekeeping duties including laundry and cleaning. Support clients with Alzheimer's or dementia care through engaging activities that promote cognitive function. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Qualifications Previous experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical documentation is highly desirable. CPR certification is required; additional certifications in caregiving or home care are a plus. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice care is beneficial. Strong observational skills for monitoring patient conditions and reporting changes effectively. Ability to perform light cleaning tasks and meal preparation while maintaining a safe environment for clients. Familiarity with EHR systems is advantageous for accurate record keeping. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach towards caregiving are essential for success in this role.
