Department:
Medical Surgical Peds Employment Status (Full Time Equivalent): Part-time (0.8 FTE)- 64 hours per pay period

Hours:
8-hour shift Rotating Hours 7:00am to 3:30pm 3:00pm to 11:30pm 11:00pm to 7:30am Every Other Weekend Position Objective The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) assists nursing staff in providing patient care, to include procedures that monitor body functions, transportation and movement of patients, set-up and maintenance of equipment, medical and surgical prep procedures and maintaining sanitary and neat conditions. Essential Responsibilities The following description of responsibilities to be performed is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. Attend to the individual needs of the patient which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feedings, toileting, transferring, communication, or other needs Perform skills which include observation and documentation of glucometer checks, vital signs and Intake & Outtake into appropriate record keeping systems Lift, move, and transport patients using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention Answer patient call lights promptly and courteously Use infection prevention measures to prevent the spread of infection in and around the healthcare facility Other Responsibilities Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health's mission, vision, values, policies and procedures Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability Required Qualifications Basic Life Support Certification Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in the hospital setting Prior experience in a nursing home setting Completed the Certified Nursing Assistant course or equivalent Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to assist in providing a safe and friendly environment Skill in observing patients for changes in conditions or behavior and promptly reporting changes to appropriate personnel Ability to maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of patients in the delivery of services to them Ability to interact with patients in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a carding environment Union Position Yes
