Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities and other special needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized assistance and advocacy. This role requires patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while assisting with daily living activities, fostering community integration, and ensuring the health and safety of the individuals served.
Positions available:
We have a FULL-TIME and
PART-TIME
Evening position and a
OVERNIGHT
position. All positions may require a every other weekend shift. Our Full-time is in Taylors Falls, MN. Our Part-time Evening and Part-Time Overnight is in Chisago City, MN. What you'll do Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and document individuals vital signs and overall health status to ensure proper care. Implement individualized care plans while collaborating with healthcare teams to promote optimal outcomes. Monitor and document client progress, reporting any changes in behavior or health status to appropriate personnel. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties and ensuring hygiene standards are met. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Engage individuals in meaningful activities that foster social interaction and personal growth. Uphold HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Basic qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in caregiving roles is preferred. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and the ability to recognize changes in behavior or health status. Capability to lift up to 50lbs as required for individual assistance. Preferred qualifications Previous experience in group homes or nursing facilities is a plus. Certification in CPR is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not already held. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. A compassionate approach with a focus on enhancing client well-being through direct support services. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.
