Job Description
Get paid to have fun! Full time and part time available with flexible scheduling. (weekend availability required) We are looking for compassionate and motivated people to fill our Respite Caregiver position. We have a loft in the upstairs of our London Road office to support individuals with complex needs. This could be someone with medical needs or people needing a positive support strategy. If not in the loft, the Respite Caregiver will go to the individual's home to provide care. The main goal of the position is supporting individuals with their basic needs: personal cares, nutrition and hygiene. We want to make sure their needs are met and ensure they have the best day possible while in our care. This can be done by promoting socialization, community engagement and overall supporting their interests. Whether the interests are watching movies or going for a walk, there is always something to do! Experience is preferred, but not necessary. We offer extensive paid training for people willing to learn advanced skills. ```
Duties:
```- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications and assist with medical treatments as needed
- Implement behavior management strategies and provide emotional support
- Plan and participate in recreational activities and outings
- Document individual progress and report any concerns to supervisor ```
Requirements:
```- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (car insurance and vehicle)
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
