Direct Support Professional Twin Ports Children Services - 4.4 Duluth, MN Job Details Part-time | Full-time $22 - $24 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid training Mileage reimbursement 401(k) Paid time off Paid orientation Flexible schedule Qualifications First aid Working with children First Aid Certification Direct support Full Job Description Job Overview Twin Ports Children Services is seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care and supervision to youth in a residential foster care setting. In this role, you will support individuals with behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs by promoting structure, safety, and independence. DSPs play a critical role in maintaining a stable environment while implementing individualized support plans in accordance with Minnesota 245D standards. This is a hands-on position that requires strong communication, consistency, and the ability to respond effectively to a variety of situations. This paid opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health and human services. Duties Provide direct supervision and support to clients in a residential group home setting Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, meals, and daily routines Implement individualized support plans and behavioral strategies in accordance with 245D guidelines Administer medications and complete documentation per company policy and training Monitor client behavior and overall well-being, reporting any concerns or changes promptly Maintain a clean, safe, and structured environment at all times Complete accurate and timely documentation, including daily notes and incident reports Transport clients to appointments, school, or community activities as needed Engage clients in structured activities to promote social, emotional, and behavioral development Experience Candidates should have prior experience working with youth, individuals with developmental disabilities, or in residential/group home settings. Experience in foster care, behavioral health, or human services is highly valued. Familiarity with de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed care, and behavior management strategies is preferred. Certifications such as CPR/First Aid and medication administration are a plus but can be obtained after hire. Candidates must be able to pass a Minnesota DHS background study and complete all required 245D trainings. Strong communication skills, reliability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. Experience working with individuals with autism, behavioral challenges, or mental health needs will be considered a strong advantage.
Pay:
