This rewarding role involves providing compassionate, personalized care and support to residents in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and community-based programs. As a DSP, you will foster a safe, respectful environment while promoting independence, dignity, and well-being. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and comfort Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with meal service to encourage healthy eating habits Utilize specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring adherence to health standards Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA and assist in updating individualized care plans Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of patient care techniques including first aid, CPR, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice support Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or other special needs is advantageous Familiarity with medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring is desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts when necessary Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and patient safety are essential Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards and experience maintaining confidentiality in healthcare settings Join us if you're passionate about providing compassionate support that enhances lives!
