Minneapolis, MN Job Details Part-time | Full-time $17 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Mileage reimbursement Qualifications Somali CPR Certification Patient monitoring English Assisting with ADLs First Aid Certification Direct support Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and bilingual Direct Support Professional (DSP) who speaks Somali and English fluently to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various care settings. In this role, you will be a vital part of enhancing the quality of life for residents by assisting with daily activities, monitoring health, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment. Your energetic approach and dedication will help foster a nurturing atmosphere where clients feel valued and supported every day. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your skills in senior care, disability support, and community health. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' health by observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA privacy standards Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control procedures Document care plans, patient observations, and progress notes accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive community atmosphere Transport residents to appointments Qualifications Fluency in both Somali and English languages is essential for effective communication with clients and team members Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration Certification or training in first aid, CPR Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate attitude towards diverse populations of seniors or individuals with disabilities Join our dedicated team where your energy fuels compassionate care!
