The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and teaching hospitals. This role is vital in ensuring patients receive the highest quality of care while promoting their independence and well-being. The Personal Care Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals in environments such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, emergency medicine departments, and geriatrics units. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients. Monitor patient health by observing and reporting changes in condition or behavior to nursing staff. Help with mobility and transportation needs within the facility or during appointments. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene and safety protocols. Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as outpatient clinics, ORs, PICUs, and hospital medicine departments to ensure comprehensive patient care. Experience Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with working in outpatient settings, teaching hospitals, emergency medicine environments, or geriatrics is advantageous. Knowledge of protocols within Level I and Level II Trauma Centers is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
