Heartland Industries and Adult Life Programs of Moorhead are seeking Job Facilitators & Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for Full-Time 30+ hours per week (This position qualifies for the following benefits: Health Insurance, Paid Sick Time, Flex, and 401K) and Part-Time less than 30 hours per week positions to join our team to improve the lives of people with disabilities. We offer a starting wage of $17.50 per hour. Mon - Fri day shifts 7:00am - 3:30pm . No weekends! Heartland Industries of Moorhead, MN The Job Facilitator/DSP works closely with other staff to assure program consistency and generalization of learned skills in order for clients to more fully integrate into the community and to encourage maximum independence. A Heartland Industries Job Facilitator/DSP must be caring, compassionate, flexible, and have great people skills to support individuals with disabilities by modeling behaviors to help them gain skills and provide job support to maintain their employment. Driving is required. Clear background study and valid driver's license/No driving violations in the past 3 years required.
Responsibilities :
Working alongside and supporting persons with disabilities to ensure their job standards are met and maintain quality control required by job specifications Supervise activities and wellbeing of clients Implements specific programs in work skill and day services. Implements a behavior program on specific clients as part of a team, using the least restrictive behavioral intervention. Document all client information - daily progress notes, program goal charting, communication notes, and other information as needed. Maintains accurate/detailed client time card information Continually inspire personal growth in the people we support by working on personal goals and implementing person-centered practices. Provides one-on-one training to individuals as needed Works with team to assure a safe and orderly environment for clients and staff. Supervises and assists clients before and after work transition, to and from transportation and during lunch and break times. Act as Bus aide in AM and PM Assisting clients with personal cares All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent sitting, standing, bending, walking, reaching, pushing and pulling Occasional lifting and carrying of 35lbs to 50lbs.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Great communication skills, verbal and written Basic computer skills Ability to work with others effectively and as a team Reliable, show up to work on time and when scheduled Know how to budget time and multi-task Ability to think critically Able to work safely Ability to visually observe clients Adult Life Programs of Moorhead, MN The purpose of this Adult Life Programs Direct Support Professional position (DSP) is to work directly with people with disabilities in a community integrated setting so they can live a life filled with purpose. Adult Life Programs Adult Day Program is designed to support adults who have a disability and/or no longer wish to work. People in our program benefit from and enjoy participating in day activities, creating friendships, and developing new opportunities for personal growth. Our DSPs work to support individuals in our programs with customized support plans that are designed to meet their specific needs and interests. Examples of Adult Day Program activities include: art therapy, music therapy, cooking, social activities, learning activities, community activities and special events. Driving is required. Background check required. All required training will be provided. Responsibilities Direct support professionals assist people with personal cares and other activities of daily living including goals and programs such as walking and range of motion exercises Document all client information - daily progress notes, program goal charting, communication notes, and other information as needed. Assist in set-up of activities and encourage people during groups/activities as needed. Continually inspire personal growth in the people we support by working on personal goals and implementing person-centered practices. Conducts oneself as a positive role model for people and other team members in terms of appearance, socialization and teamwork. Works with team to assure a safe and orderly environment for clients and staff. Assisting clients with personal cares Provide daily transportation of persons supported All other duties as assigned.
