Job Description

Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Hospital Transport Aide to join our team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position Summary:
Transporters will work with hospital staff in ancillary departments, patient care units and the rehabilitation department to provide safe, courteous, and efficient transport services to all patients within Methodist Hospital inpatient areas. Transporters will perform or assist with the transfers of patient to appropriate mode of transport vehicle. Transporters will use communication and technology to assist in the efficiency of the transport service. Duties require initiative, organizational skills, written and telephone communication skills, base level computer skills, and meeting schedule timelines. MH transporters need to work collaboratively as a team with all care providers and other internal customers. Daily flexibility in work duties is a requirement to support the department in meeting its patient care needs.
Work Schedule:
FTE 1.0, 40
hours per week, 9:00am-5:30am, Monday to Friday.
Required Qualifications:
Must be able to work independently. Must be able to problem-solve using good communication and people skills. Strong verbal communication, customer relations, and listening skills are essential. Must be able to promote and maintain good customer relations and patient confidentiality. Must be trained in and demonstrate proficiency in clinical procedures, infection control practices, body mechanics and transfer training. Must be able to effectively communicate with a wide variety of patients including those with speech and hearing impairments.
Preferred qualifications:
High School Graduate/GED Previous experience as a rehab aide, radiology aide, nursing assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant training. Current enrollment in an allied health program. Six months experience in a customer service or volunteer position
