Job Description

Duties:
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, assisting with toileting, personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
  • Maintain a clean and organized living environment for individuals
  • Drive your vehicle and take individuals to appointments, community outings, and other activities as needed
  • Document and maintain accurate records of individual progress and daily activities
  • Advocate for resident rights and ensure that individuals are treated with dignity and respect
Skills:
  • Ability to participate in activities that require walking, standing and being outdoors for extended periods of time
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
  • Experience working with people with dementia
  • Experience in meal preparation and basic housekeeping tasks
  • Familiarity with systems for documenting individual progress and maintaining records If you have a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, a vehicle that you can use for work and an interest in helping others, apply for this job.

  • CPR/ First Aid and 245D Training are preferred, but not required
  • You must have the ability to use a computer for documentation and timecards
  • You must have a valid driver's license, vehicle that you can use for work and current auto insurance
  • You must have the ability to bend, lift, walk and stand for long periods.
