Overview Care Assistants provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and assist with unit/department operations under the supervision of registered nurses. Assignment of job responsibilities are as delegated by registered nurses assigned to supervise the care assistant and in accordance with this job description. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficient and safe operations. Unit Secretary/clerical functions. Attends education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees. s responsibility for teaching and orientation of new personnel (within own skills) Qualifications HS diploma or equivalent and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training Experience patient or customer facing roles preferred Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or If not a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) one of the following criteria must be met: Enrolled in a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing education program and have successfully completed the fundamentals in nursing course. Within the past 3 years, was a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state licensure examination in any state.
