Job Description
Company Overview The LIGHT House was founded in 1985 with a mission to support mothers and their babies, initially focusing on providing residential services for adolescent mothers and their young children. Over the years, our reach has grown to include a broad range of services for families throughout the Kansas City community. Our residential program , located in a secure and confidential midtown location, serves pregnant or parenting young women ages 12 to 21 with children under the age of three. Residents receive comprehensive support including life and parenting skills development, case management, counseling, and access to essential community resources. Our community-based services , based in the Southtown Council District of Kansas City, MO, provide ongoing support to families through regularly scheduled life skills and parenting education classes. We also offer case management, counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults, and home-based pregnancy services through our dedicated staff. We welcome individuals and families from all backgrounds. As a licensed and accredited non-profit, all of our services are offered completely free of charge to clients. Summary This position will provide additional support for existing staff; most shifts are worked in pairs. Maternity home clients are age 12-21, we have a maximum capacity of 6 mom clients. This position is eligible for insurance and benefits with full-time hours. Responsibilities Basic home care tasks Providing support to young moms needing assistance during the evening Providing encouragement , support and basic child care Requirements Class E license prior to first shift Bachelors of Social Work (or related degree) Experience working with young women/children We are currently seeking individuals of Christian faith who are passionate about serving others.
