Personal Care Assistant

Job Description:

Be a companion to an autistic male named Cary who is 46 years old. Eventually be a live in with Cary as a companion after getting to know him. Cary, who is non verbal has a comfortable home of his own. Cary attends a day program M-F and has other aides to assist at other times.

Job Duties:

To provide safety, training and a positive environment so both the aide and the autistic person have satisfying days together. Be active with some activities such as: Exercising by walking or going to gym Going to library Buying groceries Making dinner reading

Job Requirements:

Must have had experience with disabled people and to: Be able to pass a background exam. Have reliable transportation. Hold at least a high school diploma Live in Lee's Summit, MO area Have a cell phone Be kind and have lots of patience Will adapt schedule to fit both Cary and the care giver.
