Job Description

Day Habilitation Specialist (DHS Specialist) - Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) MBCH Children & Family Ministries is seeking compassionate and dependable Day Habilitation Specialists to provide support and care for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in a safe, structured, and engaging environment. The Day Habilitation Specialist plays an important role in helping individuals develop independence, build daily living skills, and achieve personal goals through individualized support and meaningful community involvement. This position promotes dignity, personal growth, and inclusion while maintaining a faith-based, person-centered approach to care. Key Responsibilities Provide direct support and supervision to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Assist clients with developing independent living, social, and communication skills Support individuals in achieving goals outlined in their Individual Service Plans (ISP) Provide transportation and assist with community outings, appointments, and daily activities Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and life-enrichment activities Maintain a trauma-informed, person-centered, and faith-based approach to care Offer encouragement, emotional support, and positive behavior guidance Lead daily devotions and provide positive spiritual support when appropriate Complete required documentation, daily progress notes, and incident reports accurately and timely Work collaboratively with team members, families, guardians, and caregivers Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and supportive environment Ensure compliance with HCBS standards, agency policies, and safety guidelines Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Must be at least 21 years of age Experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) or related human services experience preferred Valid driver's license required Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain professionalism, patience, and compassion in challenging situations Ability to use computer and electronic documentation systems Clear background check required Candidates should support and reflect the faith-based mission and values of the organization Compensation Package Includes Benefits Package valued at over $15,000 per year Comprehensive Medical for only $25 per month FREE Dental Insurance FREE Long-Term Disability FREE Life Insurance (3x Annual Salary) Employer-Paid Retirement Contribution equal to 10% of your annual salary with no employee match required (eligibility begins after six months of employment)

$2,400.00 - $2,401.00 per month
