Job Description

Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)-Residential Specialist MBCH Children & Family Ministries is seeking a compassionate and dependable full-time IDD Residential Specialist - Shift to support adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in our residential program located in Peculiar, Missouri (near Kansas City). This position is responsible for providing direct care, supervision, and daily living support to adults with IDD while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life. The Residential Specialist will help create a structured, supportive, and positive environment while modeling Christian values and encouraging personal growth. Primary Responsibilities Provide direct supervision, support, and care for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Assist residents with daily living activities and life skills development Foster positive relationships through effective communication, encouragement, and teamwork Support residents' health and wellness needs, including: Medication management Coordinating medical appointments Monitoring health concerns Assisting with nutrition and dietary needs Encourage independence, community involvement, and social engagement Maintain a safe, clean, structured, and supportive living environment Complete administrative responsibilities including: Daily documentation Incident reports Progress notes Communication logs Participation in team meetings Ensure compliance with agency policies, state regulations, and resident care standards Provide emotional support and positive behavior guidance when needed Support the faith-based mission and values of the organization through daily interactions and service Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, or related field preferred High School Diploma or GED required Previous experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, residential care, caregiving, or human services preferred Must be at least 21 years of age Valid driver's license required Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in stressful situations Compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing quality care and support Compensation & Benefits Benefits Package valued at over $15,000 per year Comprehensive Medical for only $25 per month FREE Dental Insurance FREE Long-Term Disability FREE Life Insurance (3x Annual Salary) Employer-Paid Retirement Contribution equal to 10% of your annual salary with no employee match required (eligibility begins after six months of employment)
