Job Description

Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your dedication and caring nature will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal needs. In this vital role, you will provide respectful, attentive care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. Whether working in a home setting, assisted living facility, or group home environment, you will be the trusted companion and caregiver who helps clients maintain their dignity and quality of life through personalized support. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration; observe for any changes or signs of distress Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations to ensure confidentiality and safety Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking as required Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring proper infection control practices Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents accurately in compliance with healthcare protocols and care plans Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of isolation for clients dealing with dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop and implement personalized care plans Ensure compliance with all safety standards including first aid, CPR certification requirements, and HIPAA regulations Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health care, or group homes is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately Experience assisting individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism or dementia care is advantageous Familiarity with medication administration procedures and care planning processes Hands-on experience using patient lifting equipment like Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids is beneficial Strong understanding of HIPAA privacy standards and confidentiality protocols in healthcare settings Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper body mechanics during transfers or repositioning tasks Previous roles involving hospice care or working with seniors in long-term care environments are valued Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly enhance the lives of those you serve.
