PCA Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence. This role requires a blend of caregiving skills, patient observation, and adherence to resident rights and HIPAA regulations. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Observe and report any changes in clients' physical or emotional conditions. Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs as required. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including HIPAA and resident rights. Provide first aid as necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies. Work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their specific needs are met. Qualifications Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, especially in nursing homes or similar environments. Knowledge of patient care techniques and principles, including first aid and patient observation skills. Understanding of resident rights and the ability to advocate for clients effectively. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to perform light cleaning tasks as part of maintaining a safe living environment. Cooking skills are beneficial for preparing meals that meet dietary restrictions or preferences. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
