DSP - Community Skill Creations - 3.0 Asheville, NC Job Details Part-time | Full-time $16 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Computer literacy Driver's License Data entry Chauffeur driving First aid and CPR Full Job Description DSP Position working with one or multiple individuals in the Asheville and Buncombe County surrounding area Schedule - based on needs of the client(s), open to employee input.
Pay Rate:
$ 16/hr The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall support to individuals receiving services from Skill Creations, Inc. The individuals served are affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and secondary mental health/substance abuse issues. The DSP works in the individual?s home and/or in the community providing one-to-one or group care according to the specific needs of the individuals and their plan of care. Examples of the type of duties include assisting the individual with personal care, preparing meals/snacks and assisting with taking medications. The Direct Support Professional also provides training opportunities in the areas of communication, recreation/leisure skills and appropriate behaviors. The DSP transports/accompanies individuals to day programs, work sites and other activities in the community.
Requirements:
High School graduation Transcript, GED, or University College Transcript Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays. Valid Driver?s license and acceptable Driving Record. Personal vehicle for transporting clients. Criminal Record Check Successful completion of course work will be required in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management. Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data. Ability to lift 50 lbs, be on one's feet most of the time, and occasionally balance, bend, stoop, and kneel. Ability to meet the individual client specific needs EOE
