Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings, including clinics, hospitals, and trauma centers, and will possess a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence. Responsibilities Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, including transferring to and from wheelchairs or beds. Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated to healthcare professionals. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. Assist with medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans. Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings including medical-surgical units, emergency medicine departments, clinics, operating rooms (OR), hospital medicine units, Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, geriatrics, and pediatric intensive care units (PICU). Document care provided accurately and report any concerns regarding client health or safety. Qualifications Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a related healthcare role is preferred. Knowledge of medical-surgical practices and emergency medicine protocols is advantageous. Familiarity with working in clinical settings such as hospitals or trauma centers is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others maintain their dignity and independence. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care while adhering to safety protocols. Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not required at the time of application. Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
