Job Description

Seeking a candidate to work with a young boy with autism in the Chinga Grove area. If you are in school for special needs you would be an ideal candidate. Please reach out if you are interested. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether supporting residents in group homes, assisted living facilities, or home and community settings, your energy and commitment will foster a nurturing environment where everyone can thrive. Duties Behavior Support:
Implementing behavior intervention strategies, data collection, and positive reinforcement to manage challenging behaviors.
Skill Building:
Assisting with communication (alternative methods like visuals), social skills (structured interactions), and daily living activities (hygiene, routines).
Routine & Structure:
Establishing consistent daily schedules and using visual supports (charts, pictures) to provide stability.
Sensory Management:
Recognizing and helping with sensory needs, providing breaks or tools as required.
Data Collection:
Accurately tracking progress on goals (IEPs) and reporting to the team.
Family & Team Collaboration:
Communicating with parents, teachers, and specialists (like BCBAs) to ensure consistent support. Skills Proven experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, or aging populations in settings like group homes or assisted living facilities Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, first aid, medication administration, and patient monitoring Familiarity with home health practices such as hospice care, home & community care, and long-term care environments Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts when needed Patience, empathy, and strong communication. Ability to use clear, simple language and visual aids. Adaptability to individual needs and interests. Reliability and professionalism.
