Job Description

Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Autism & Developmental Disabilities Management Care Services is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide direct care and support to children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD), and behavioral health needs throughout North Carolina. As a DSP, you will help individuals build independence, develop life skills, participate in their communities, and achieve goals identified in their Person-Centered Plan (PCP) and Individual Support Plan (ISP). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping individuals live their best lives. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one support in the home and community settings. Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and household tasks. Support the development of independent living skills, communication skills, social skills, and community integration. Assist individuals in accessing community resources, recreational activities, appointments, and employment-related activities when appropriate. Implement goals and interventions outlined in the Individual Support Plan (ISP) and Person-Centered Plan (PCP). Utilize positive behavior support strategies and follow behavior support plans when applicable. Document services accurately and submit service notes within agency timelines. Maintain ongoing communication with supervisors, families, guardians, and treatment team members. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals receiving services. Transport individuals to community activities, appointments, and approved outings as needed. Follow all Medicaid, HIPAA, agency, and state regulations. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum age of 18 years. Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance required. Ability to pass a criminal background check and other required screenings. Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual/developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or special needs populations preferred. Strong communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and accountability. CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
