Job description The Enclave is currently seeking experienced Shift Lead Medication Technicians (Med Techs) / Personal Care Assistants (PCA) in the Clayton area for an Adult Residential Care Home. As a Shift Lead for The Enclave, you must be a Medication Technician. You will be responsible for supervising and covering shifts as needed. You will get to know the residents on a personal level. As a Shift Lead for The Enclave your main job function is to ensure that our residents receive quality care and that services are being provided and documented in a consistent manner and in alignment with each resident's Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and The Enclave's policies. The Shift Lead, leads by example in all job responsibilities, and may work variable hours, likely to include some weekends and holiday duty. In this entry level lead role, the Shift Lead is responsible for ensuring that there is adequate staffing coverage at all times. You will also perform all personal care duties that CNAs, Med Techs and/or Personal Care Assistants perform, such as personal hygiene tasks, meal preparation, medication administration, goal implementation etc. Essential Responsibilities of the Shift Lead include but are not limited to;
  • Spending adequate amounts of time in the residential home.
  • Providing coverage for any shifts necessary including after-hours and on-call coverage as part of the direct care rotation. Must cover shifts in the event of an unfilled call off for any and all shifts as necessary.
  • Support team members as they provide Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care and services to residents in accordance with their Individualized Service Plans (ISP). This may include medication administration, bathing, grooming, personal and dental hygiene, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, hair care, escorting to and from meals and activities and tidying resident's rooms.
  • Assist with meal preparation and services.
  • Accurately document care and services provided to residents.
  • Ensure compliance with The Enclave's Timekeeping and Meal/Rest Period policies. Monitor team member break schedule and duration; ensure that all staff members clock in/out accordingly.
  • Display and encourage flexibility in work schedule by working holidays, evenings, weekends and additional shifts when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests by following established safety standards; actively support safety practices.
  • Report incidents and complete appropriate paperwork immediately
  • Communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition to the department care coordinator, develop and/or update the ISPs and communication with residents and family.
  • Prevent and handle conflict by working with the team towards a solution.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Maintains work operations by following The Enclave's policies and procedures.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping resident information confidential.
  • Serves and protects the Residential Adult Care Home by adhering to professional standards, Residential Adult Care Home policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure. Additional requirements for this entry level manager role include but are not limited to;
  • Medication Technician certification.
  • High School degree or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with the elderly and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Valid drivers' license and automotive insurance.
  • Flexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed.
  • Ability to lift between 20 and 50 lbs. and provide CPR after certification.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
